Corvette Review

A Corvette is one of the most desired cars by any male in America. It is the ONLY true sports car in America. The Corvette has been around for more than 55 years but the car did not always have such a sports car appeal. The first Corvette only had a six speed engine but in 1955 it gained a mighty V8 and the Corvette could do 60 in fewer than 6 seconds.

The performance by the modern day Corvette is nothing but astounding. The Corvettes that are made now are able to go from 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds. The wonderful thing about the Corvette is that it does not have to be a car just for those that enjoy sports cars. You can enjoy the Corvette because of how awesome it looks. This car has been around the block and it knows how to handle and drive you crazy.

Now you might wonder why the Corvette has been a fixture so long. Part of the reason this car has remained the most iconic sports car in America is that it gets great gas mileage. Highway use sees the new Corvettes getting up near 30 miles and in town it gets 15-18. That is great gas mileage for a sports car. You have to love the exterior of the Corvette as it is cool, quick and sleek. However, some people have reported problems with some of the older Corvettes as far as being able to keep them on the road. It turns out also that some dealers have been selling Corvettes and misleading their customers.

Reports have also been made that the handling on Corvettes has been very spotty. A constant complaint about the Corvette seats have also made many people weary of buying Americas only sports car. Many people have stated that they either love or hate the car. Luckily, the Corvette does seem to have a higher number of fans than most cars.

However, many people seem to see the Corvette as a car that knows what it is doing. If you are a Corvette owner, then you know that you will receive constant attention whenever you are driving around. Then again, who doesn't love to be the center of attention? Many people who buy different brands of luxury sports cars regret not taking the option to buy a Corvette. The people who buy Corvettes are those that can truly afford the fun. They know how to handle the cars on the road, and they know that Corvettes can be useful in everyday driving and showing off to friends.

If you are someone considering buying a Corvette, you should try test driving Americas only sports car. After all, you are getting the chance to try a car that can bring you both a great ride on the road and a great ride for your self-esteem. The Corvette is the only sports car that will bring you both performance, and the look to make it worth the money you are going to be paying.

Should we ban people from doing things that we don't want them to do, when what they are doing harms no one?
For example: I don't like it when people buy Corvettes, should we ban Corvettes? Is there anything you would like to see banned simply because you don't like it? Some people don't like for others to smoke, drink, or use drugs in the privacy of their own homes. It doesn't bother me, so I don't really want to see these activities banned. Do we know what's better for someone else? Conversely, is it possible that THEY know what's better for US? Who should be in control of a person's life, that person or someone else? If we ban things in order to preserve someone else's health, shouldn't we ban sugary drinks, fattening foods, motorcycles, horses, swimming pools, walking barefoot, having sex, and even rollerblading?

Men: Have you had your mid-life crisis yet?
Half of my friends in their 40's have bought corvettes or motorcycles, have affairs, become preoccupied with themselves, etc. It's almost like clockwork - a man turns 40 and they have their crisis. Just wondering how many of you have had one or not.

$100,000 ZR1 Corvette...why it won't work?
Demographically, the people who buy Corvette's don't make that kind of money. The base model(which is also very drivable in the real world) is a good deal as far as bang for buck ratio. The Z06 is virtually undrivable on anything besides a pool-table smooth race-track, and now GM states it is going for Porsche's/Ferrari's throat with the new ZR1. It's already been done...it's called the 911 GT3, and it's a true 200MPH car from Porsche for $107K. Porsches numbers are VERY conservative in terms of 0-60, top speed. GM's claims typically are best case scenario's. And get this...both the ZR1 and GT3 have nearly identical top speeds. yet one produces nearly 205HP less, and much less torque as well. Someone is not telling the truth here... No matter how you gussy-up the Corvette, it is what it is. Crude, loud, noisy and harsh, as a muscle car "should" be. Look at $1.00 for a Big-Mac, or $1.07 for Prime-Rib, I think the answer is obvious. One is an image...the other is an icon. My take on the Corvette is it's a car to been seen in...the 911 is for those who drive looking forward, not on the side looking for JQ Public's approval.

Why do people drive sports cars if they are not going to take them to the race track?
I don't think people should buy Corvettes and 911s if all they're going to do if drive to and fro from work slogging around in traffic. What do you guys think? Shouldn't you buy a car that fits the purpose of what you're doing? If you're going to buy a sports car buys a sports car thats built for the road like an RX-8 or a Mustang.
