Tips On How To Paint Corvettes Without Damaging It
There are a variety of sports cars in the market that we have to buy from. Some of these cost a lot more than our home and are probably the most luxurious. Others do not cost as much - but do not look any less cool! One of the favorites among some folks is the Corvette. That is also one of the hottest muscle cars in the United States.
Sometimes it helps to have a difference when it pertains to these basic cars. The most important thing that you could do is find a way to paint over the color with something a lot more vivacious and modern. To try this you have to possess a smooth finish. Utilize sandpaper to have the whole thing ready. This will likely remove any bumps and previous blemishes.
Tape over the windows, door handles, trimming, lights, and any parts which you will not be painting. You can even have to tape over the tires along with the under carriage. When that's done you have to spread over the primer or the undercoat. Use an air sprayer which will apply it evenly over the whole surface.
Wait a few hours or a complete day for this to dry before you paint over it with the new color. Again you might use a sprayer. Make sure to maneuver at a steady pace so that it is applied evenly. You may need to put on a couple of coats. Just make sure it dries before the other goes on.
While you are done you might apply a transparent coat of paint. When that may be dry you are going to be able to remove the tape and take a look at the job. Your old car has turned to a modern and cool car you will love. Just make sure that you continue and wax it once every couple of months.

corvette paint prep-product?
i had my vette soda blasted, its a bit rough . after i get it smooth, what type of filler should i use ? i'm thinking of something like the red putty that was once used in bodywork, but obviously i need a product for fiberglass. any suggestions?

Corvette paint color: metallic or solid black?
I have a 74 corvette sportwagon with a red interior I'm about to paint... it was originally black and i've pretty much decided to keep it that way. Question is, should I go with or without metallic flakes? pearl? I'm leaning towards a gold pearl (i like gold and red... is that gaudy?) and coarse metallic (I want it to have so much metallic that it's almost a dark gunmetal gray). My uncle, who's painting the car, says that metallic black always looks dirty... although i've never heard that before. thoughts?
fyi the bodywork is good enough to handle black.
also, if you have another color suggestion that goes with a red interior c3 corvette (ive considered dark red, dark green, dark dark blue, gunmetal gray...) feel free to share it.
